Tom Mix

$225.00$315.00

Tom Mix was an early 20th Century cowboy film star.

This painting is done from a black and white photo of early 20th century cowboy film star Tom Mix. I added the colors to give it life. Western films of this era portrayed a glamourous life as a cowboy. The reality was it was a hard and low paying job. Tom Mix was one of the pallbearers for real life western legend Wyatt Earp in 1929. Tom Mix was killed in a single car crash on AZ Highway 79 south of Florence, Arizona in 1940. A monument to him is found at the spot where he died. He was 60 years old.

Reproduction sizes available: 16” x 16” on canvas and metal.
