Coyotes are found in almost every state in the USA. They are highly adaptable canines.
Mostly associated with the American Southwest, coyotes are in almost all the states in the USA. They have been sighted in Central Park in New York City. Effective hunters, they move in packs to attack their prey. Their communal yips after a kill are a very eerie sound as it rolls across the desert in the early morning or late evening. Coyotes are found in rural and urban areas of the Southwest. Coyotes have a six-foot vertical leap which allows them to traverse most backyard block walls in urban areas in search of prey. They like to eat cats and small dogs. Rabbits, mice and other small rodents and lizards are favorites also.
