The view from the bottom of a southwest canyon reveals interesting textures and colors.
Canyon walls tell many different stories. They offer a geological historical record or the passage of time. Creatures of all types have built homes in the caves, cracks, and crevasses. Humans have also used these types of habitats to construct homes that offer safety and security from the elements of an environment that can be harsh. And they offer beauty to the eye of the wandering beholder seeking solace in the quiet of a canyon. I am continually astonished by the magnificence of canyon walls on my treks through them. And on occasion I stumble across carvings of prehistoric artists in the rock faces they used as a canvas.
